THE PUBS

THE SHAKESPEARE INN

Named after the renowned writer William Shakespeare, this pub pays a striking tribute to the literary icon, featuring a prominent drawing of the man himself on its exterior wall. Although Shakespeare was known for his tragedies, which often delved into darker themes, this bar is far from being a tragedy. Instead, it offers a cosy atmosphere, artfully combining darker colour schemes with vibrant accents. It is the kind of place where Shakespeare might have enjoyed a fine ale.

THE WELLINGTON

The Wellington is a traditional, no-nonsense English pub. The carpet, which has a long tradition in English pub culture, gives the pub a homely and welcoming ambiance. The pub also has a great choice of different kind of draught ales, and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a drink with your friends.

THE OLD JOINT STOCK PUB & THEATRE

This pub exudes more class than your typical alehouse. It boasts a beautiful ceiling with windows and a rectangular, old-fashioned bar featuring a prominent clock in the centre. There is a lot of seating area, including a second-floor balcony, for a unique experience. The exterior sets it apart with eye-catching Roman pillars. And, if you are interested in the arts, the pub even houses a theatre.

THE OLD CONTEMPTIBLES

The Old Contemptibles is a traditional English pub, much like the Wellington and the Shakespeare Inn. The pub embraces the typical dark colour palette associated with this style of establishment. What truly sets this place apart is its unique, must-see bar. It is crafted from rich, dark wood. To enhance the cosy ambiance, there is even a fireplace.
